This is a Raku fired sculpture of a bird on a rocky outcrop.
A brasher sort of character and a bit of a loud mouth, this bird has a bright yellow beak and hangs out at the rougher end of the cove. Liable to make impertinent comments to passers by at the top of his voice - try putting a duster over him to calm him down.
The modelling is done by hand and is unique to this sculpture. The legs of the bird are made from wire with plastic sleeving.
Dimensions: 6" height x 4" length x 3.5" width.
Materials: Raku clay, Raku glazes.
Care: This sculpture is for indoor use.
Studio pottery - individually made with care.
|Wire||Copper wire with plastic sleeve is used for the legs of the bird.|
|Raku fired clay||This clay is fired to about 1000°c. and removed from the kiln while very hot. It is smoked in a reduction chamber to give the characteristic blackened clay body.|
|Care||This sculpture is intended for indoor use.|
